Access

Entrance

Please access the Cathedral through the glass entranceway at 414 Sparks Street, which is wheelchair accessible. There is an accessible lift inside this entrance,which is staffed by a sidesperson on Sundays and for special services and concerts. During the week, please call ahead to the Cathedral Office if you will require the lift (613) 236-9149.

Transit (O-Train and Bus)

Regular public transit routes to the downtown Parliament Hill area will easily get you close to the cathedral,and the Lyon Station for the O-Train is just down the street.

Parking

Sundays and Evenings

Free street parking is available on the nearby streets. There is also a large parking lot a very short walk from the cathedral, just east of the National Library and Archives building at 395 Wellington Street. Here is a list of free parking near the cathedral on Sundays appreciating the situation can change without notice due to special events and/or construction:

  1. Library and Archives both east and west sides – approx. 35 spaces
  2. Bay Street (west side) between Wellington/Sparks/Albert – approx. 8 spaces
  3. Bronson Ave between Sparks and Queen (1 hr max) – approx. 3 spaces
  4. Queen Street across from the Cathedral (south side) street parking – approx. 5 spaces
  5. 422 Slater Street, City Parking Lot – 10 spaces
  6. Commissioner Street – east side – approx. 18 spaces
  7. Albert St. between Bronson/Bay/Lyon (south side) – approx. 10 spaces
  8. Slater St. between Bronson and Bay St. (north side) – approx. 10 spaces (currently reduced due to construction)

Weekdays

There is metered street parking as well as several hotel and city parking lots and garages in the vicinity.

Wheelchair Access

  • A wheelchair accessible door and wheelchair lift are located at the glass entranceway at 414 Sparks Street.
  • Wheelchair accessible washrooms are located on the foyer level by the cloakroom.
  • A ramp from the Nave to the Altar is located on the left-hand side of the Chancel.
  • Some pews are configured to accommodate wheelchairs.
  • Communion can be brought to worshippers in pews. Note: please advise a Sidesperson or the Duty Warden if you wish to have Communion brought to you.

Assisted Hearing

OnWave receivers and headsets are available at the back of the church. Please ask a Sidesperson for a set.
